Our love for Horses runs deep. They capture our hearts and imagination. SashaLand shirts allow us equestriennes to carry that inspiration and wear it anywhere we go, whether we are in the saddle or out of the saddle. All of our designs are created exclusively by SashaLand founder and equine artist, Michelle Wells Salzmann, and printed on premium, organic cotton blend shirts.

SashaLand Equestrian is the dreamchild of a lifelong passion for horses and art that came from a place of hope during an unprecedented moment in time.
When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, everything seemed to come to a standstill and we were all forced to look within. This elicited a shift in our Founder’s level of consciousness. To compound matters, in October of 2020 Michelle’s mother passed away, driving this profound experience even deeper. The concept for SashaLand Equestrian was born from this space and it is a testament that there is beauty to be found even in the darkest of times.
As for our name, the company is primarily named after Michelle’s young daughter, Sasha. She is a little equestrian in the making, following in her mother's footsteps. It also refers to our art studio, which is nicknamed “SashaLand”. It is a wonderland and a sanctuary where Sasha plays and where the equine art that graces our shirts is created.
Michelle’s passion for horses, and drawing them, began at an early age (the earliest sketch dates back to when she was 5 years old). She was always on a mission to perfect the horse, to draw them as true to form as possible.
Michelle started formal riding lessons (jumping and dressage) when she was approximately 9 years old in Bolivia, and continued riding when she and her family moved to Ecuador.
Upon graduating from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science, she went on to work in the equine industry. Horses have taken Michelle all around the world from Holland to Chile to Dubai, etc.
Nowadays, Michelle lives in the United States (South Florida) and although she no longer works hands-on in the equine industry, the horse continues to be her muse, and drawing them is her humble attempt to capture their essence and hold fast to the inspiration.
